TV mounting on decorative wall panels: find the real fixing base
A panelled wall can look solid while hiding a cavity. A TV installation depends on the construction carrying the bracket, not simply the appearance of the decorative surface.

Separate the finish from the load-bearing base
Timber slats, acoustic panels and thin MDF are not automatically a suitable mounting base. Establish the wall material, how the panels are attached and the cavity depth. Photos taken before the finish was installed and information from its installer are useful. If these are unavailable, agree how the substrate can be inspected before anyone starts drilling.
Allow for the bracket standing away from the wall
An articulating bracket moves the screen forward and changes the leverage on its fixings. Provide the TV model, weight without its stand and bracket instructions. A fixing passing through cladding must not crush the finish when tightened. Choosing longer screws by appearance alone is not a design: the whole wall assembly and the product requirements must be considered.
Mark the screen position and cable route together
Check the proposed screen position from your normal seat, using a paper outline if helpful. Make sure slats do not obstruct the bracket and that the bracket can fold back as intended. Leave room to reach the connectors. Concealed cabling may not be possible behind every panel system, and a plug often needs more clearance than the cable itself.
Send useful details before the appointment
For TV mounting in Kfar Saba, send Dima a wide wall photo, a side view of the finish and the TV and bracket models. Mention whether a panel can be removed and who installed the cladding. Removing and restoring a decorative finish is not automatically included in a standard mounting visit; agree that scope before booking.
What to send the handyman
- Wide and side-on photos of the panelled wall.
- Known wall material, finish thickness and cavity depth.
- TV and bracket models, instructions and screen weight.
- Preferred screen position, cable route and city.

Common questions
Can the bracket attach directly to the slats?
Not based on appearance alone. The structure and fixings need to be suitable for the load; the base behind the finish usually needs assessment.
Can the universal fixing kit be used?
Check the instructions and actual substrate. Hardware included in the box is not proof that it suits a wall with a cavity.
Should I drill the panels before the visit?
Agree the fixing method and screen position first. Unneeded holes in decorative finishes can be difficult to repair discreetly.
