TV on a plasterboard wall: why the substrate must be inspected
A finished wall can conceal a lightweight partition. Surface appearance does not establish mounting strength.
What to check
The frame, backing, screen weight and bracket geometry matter. An extended arm imposes different loads from a flat bracket. Supplied plugs are not universally suitable.
Preparation and next steps
Send wall construction details, TV weight, bracket model and any photos from before renovation. Confirm mounting and reinforcement needs after inspection; another location may be necessary. Never test the wall by hanging the heavy screen on trial fixings.
