Wardrobe on carpet: plan the base before assembly

Carpet beneath a wardrobe is more than a styling decision. Before assembly, decide whether that covering will remain, how the designed feet or plinth will be supported and how the doors and drawers will operate in the finished room.

Decide on the final floor covering first

Show the assembler whether the room has fitted carpet or a separate rug. Identify edges, underlay and the transition to a hard floor. Mention any planned flooring replacement before assembly: moving an installed wardrobe and securing it again may require a separate visit or scope. Do not place folded towels, cardboard or improvised offcuts under heavy furniture while waiting. Assess the base arrangement against the particular wardrobe instructions rather than treating any improvised support as acceptable.

Check the support design of the actual model

Locate the feet, plinth and permitted adjustments in the instructions. Adjustable supports are not fitted to every wardrobe; an uneven cabinet cannot automatically be corrected at its hinges. Photograph the covering at the proposed front and rear of the unit. If the wardrobe is already installed, do not rock or lift it to obtain a photograph. Show gaps, visible lean or unusual door resistance from a safe position and describe when the issue occurs.

Allow space in front of doors and drawers

Measure the usable passage and show the pile height in front of the wardrobe. A separate rug can enter the path of a door’s bottom edge or a pull-out fitting. Consider the opening you actually need rather than only the appearance of the closed doors. Do not plan to trim doors or cabinet parts without the manufacturer’s approval. Levelling or changing the floor arrangement does not replace wall anchoring when the model instructions require it.

Prepare a wardrobe assembly request in Kfar Saba

Send Dima the model, dimensions, support diagram and photographs of the cleared area and covering. Explain whether the wardrobe is new or already assembled, whether relocation is needed and whether wall restraints exist. Agree room preparation and required accessories before the visit. Assembly, moving a heavy cabinet, changing flooring and repairing old holes are not automatically one service. The initial assessment establishes a workable sequence rather than guaranteeing a result from a single photograph.

Common questions

Can the wardrobe simply be pulled level against the wall?

Wall restraint does not replace correct support beneath the cabinet. Assess these separately using the instructions.

Must every carpet be removed?

There is no universal answer. The model, support design, covering and manufacturer requirements determine the plan.

Will a hinge adjustment fix a door catching the rug?

Not always. Establish cabinet alignment and the obstruction first; hinges do not solve every base problem.
