Wardrobe meets a skirting board: plan the wall gap before assembly
A recess measured above floor level does not guarantee the same fit at the base. A projecting skirting board can change the wardrobe position, the passage in front and the wall-fixing arrangement. Show this detail before delivery rather than discovering it after fitting the doors.

Measure projection as well as height
Photograph the area from the side with a ruler showing the board height and how far it projects from the wall. Measure available space at floor level and above the board. Include sockets, pipes and cable trunking behind the planned wardrobe. A wide view is essential: a close-up of a small projection alone says nothing about the remaining space in front of the furniture.
Compare the actual cabinet base construction
Wardrobe models differ in their feet, plinth and rear construction. Have the product number and instructions for your exact version ready. Do not assume a flush installation or cut a notch in a side panel before checking: altering a component may affect the intended structure. Compare the furniture drawing with the real room and establish an acceptable installation arrangement first. Similar-looking cabinets may require different decisions.
Discuss the wall gap and the restraint separately
Where the cabinet stands away from the wall, assess how the manufacturer’s specified wall restraint works in that position. Do not assume tightening a fixing across an unsupported gap is an acceptable way to pull the wardrobe back. IKEA, for example, advises securing its wardrobes to the wall using suitable wall fixings; the exact arrangement still follows the product instructions. A skirting board neither replaces that restraint nor establishes a universal screw length.
Check the passage and agree the job in Petah Tikva
Mark the proposed front edge on the floor, allowing for the wall gap, and check space for opening doors and drawers. Send Dima the photographs, measurements, product number and known wall details. Removing or restoring skirting, adapting decorative trim and ordinary assembly are different tasks that need agreement. Do not remove the finish in advance before choosing an arrangement suitable for both the furniture and the room.

Common questions
Must the skirting board always be removed?
No. The cabinet design, acceptable gap and fixing arrangement determine the options. Compare the particular model with the room first.
Can I cut a notch in the cabinet side?
Do not start by altering a structural part. Check the design and manufacturer requirements, and agree any modification separately.
Does a large gap make anchoring impossible?
It calls for assessment of the specified restraint and the actual wall. The gap dimension alone cannot establish a suitable solution.
