Can old holes be reused for new wall fixtures
Old shelf or curtain holes appear to match a new fixture. Matching spacing alone is not enough.
What to check
The surrounding substrate, hole depth and previous fixing type matter. A heavier item or a longer bracket can impose different loads even when the holes line up.
Preparation and next steps
Send close-ups of old holes, the new model, weight and bracket projection. Have suitability checked before loading the old anchors. Agree wall repairs separately; pushing a random plug into a damaged hole does not prove it is secure.
